Funding for Rebuilding

It has been reported that thousands of refugees who fled conflict in northern Ethiopia’s Tigray region are now stuck in precarious conditions. They are in dire conditions and their day-to-day life is at the mercy of the weather. When there is bad weather and rainy season in all the camps, it has created panic and reportedly destroyed a significant number of tents. Some refugees had managed to reinforce their tents in advance, but most lacked the material and funds to do so and are often seen sharing tents with others or in communal shelters. During our stay in one of the refugee camps, I helped reinforce this woman’s tent together with some volunteers so she could have safe, dry shelter.
