Video Interview with HAK Media
About the Interview:
I’m not a hero, I thank God every day for what I have and for what I can do, I’m in a better place than my people. Because of all of the people who participated, we made a difference and I am thankful for that.
If I was in Tigray in the last seven months, I could have been one of the displaced, or the victim of rape or starvation, or beaten shot to death.
More on the Conditions in Tigray:
According to UNICEF, “At least 33,000 children in inaccessible parts of Tigray, Ethiopia, are severely malnourished and face imminent death without immediate help … facing famine-like conditions.”
The Ihsan Forum’s most recent update on conditions of the Tigray crisis are as follows:
Over 60, 000 Refugees in Sudan (30% are children; 300 unaccompanied and separated children)
Disturbing reports of sexual violence against women and children.
Electricity cut-off, communication blockage, flights denied, and banks closed in most places.
Critical to none: supply of food, water, medicine, fuel, cash for the entire region.
War crimes all over Tigray causing massive displacement (2.2 million displaced).
Universities, hospitals, pharmacies, farms, factories are vandalized or looted by troops.
